JTI launches limited edition packs for Silk Cut

Japan Tobacco International made an announcement about the releasing of three limited edition pack designs for Silk Cut cigarettes. Silk Cut is the company’s premium tobacco brand belonging to the lower tar type.

The modern packs will be presented across the country utilizing packs of Silk Cut Purple, Blue and Silver 20s from the beginning of November. These cigarettes will be available for 4 weeks only while stocks last.

The Premium cigarette sector at present makes up about a 22 percent volume share of the full cigarette market and gives retail dealers the opportunity for greater earnings. Silk Cut’s share of this sector, which presently stands at 19.3 percent, has increased yearly for the last ten years.

Jeremy Blackburn, JTI’s Head of Communications, states that the innovative pack designs are the newest example of innovation from Silk Cut, focusing the original opinion that is key to the brand. A pack of Silk Cut cigarettes makes up usually 65 percent more revenue for the trade than that of a value brand, per pack of 20.  Correspondingly, it’s important for sellers to stock up and make profit on this opportunity.”

Silk Cut Purple, Blue and Silver 20s cigarettes have an RRP of £7.72.
