A crowd listened to gospel music and speakers talk about the dangers of smoke and second hand smoke.
“Here in this community a lot of people are affiliated with faith communities so we thought it would be a great way to get out the word on the dangers of smoking and second hand smoke by partnering with the faith community,” Organizer Ty Grissett said.
The keynote speaker at the event was former tobacco executive La Tanisha Wright.
Wright says she left the company she worked for, saying she could no longer tolerate how cigarette manufacturers were targeting minority youth.
