Imperial Tobacco, the famous tobacco company, told last week about its intention to celebrate 100th anniversary of Embassy cigarettes brand.
The brand was launched in 1914. The year was remarkable for many other important events. In 1914 Charlie Chaplin made his fisrt appearence on stage, Henry Ford launcged his T-Ford car and World War I began.
Embassy cigarettes brand with its classic package design became one of most popular brands for adult smokers for years.
In 1962 the brand was re-launched as Embassy Filter and it managed to conquer the tobacco market. By 1968 it became most popular cigarette in the UK, with 24% share of the tobacco market.
Today economic situation is down-trading and experts say it will continue to go down, because consumers are hiked by high cigarette prices. However, in spite of challenging economic conditions almost 1 of 4 of all cigarettes packs bought in shops are premium brands.
Rebecca Cottee, Imperial Tobacco brand manager, told that Embassy is one of company’s iconic brands and it continues to be one of most important company’s brands.
Embassy managed to survive for a century and this is a great achievement, especially due to the fact that during this period of time hundreds of new cigarette brands appeared.
Despite cigarette prices, smokers do not refuse from premium tobacco brands as they appreciate their quality. Embassy cigarettes brand is available to retailers in King Size 20s and 10s. Filter Size cigarettes are also available in packs of 20 and 10 sticks.
